REPORT ON DEPARTMENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 

Date: 13-09-2020 

The Department of Computer science conducted Orientation Programme for first year students of Bachelor of Computer Science course on 12th September, 2020, as per the Circular No. SXC/ACAD/ERP/2020/2213 dated the 3rd September, 2020. 

As a part of the academic activity of the Department, Orientation program was organized by the class mentor and Head of the Department from 1.30 PM to 2.30.PM through online mode using google meet platform. The Orientation program was held in different session in which out of total 25 students in First year, twenty-three students were present. 

In this orientation programme all the department Faculty members deliberated words of advice/suggestions to the newly admitted students of BCA on the following points: 


  1. The rules and regulation of the Department. 
  2. Discussion on Tech-x club activities and Certificate courses/add-on-courses 
  3. The importance of studying Bachelor of Computer Science course. 
  4. How to improve the life and how to lead a life in a right direction. 
  5. About the course syllabus and significance of attendance (have to maintain 75 per cent attendance in each paper.) 
  6. Importance of ERP login and ITLE assignments and tests. 
  7. Maintain communal harmony in and outside the Xavier’s campus. To respect teaching faculties, staff and elders in and outside the Xavier’s campus.
  8. Responsibility towards the society as an educated person. Apart from the above-mentioned points, class mentor also imparted acknowledge on the day-to-day life, about writing skills, answering the questions via sharing their personal experiences of life in Xavier’s.
